On-airport rental center

Five rental desks sit directly opposite arrivals in T1

Car rental at Eindhoven Airport runs out of a small on-airport center in T1, with counters right in the arrivals hall and pickup in the adjacent parking area P1. You walk maybe 100–150 meters from baggage claim to the car park, so you can be in the driver’s seat within 15–20 minutes of landing if you’re hand-luggage only.

The rental desks usually open from the first departures around 06:00 until late evening flights taper off around 23:00, but exact hours vary by company and season. Major brands share the same indoor counter bank in T1, so if your chosen agency has a queue of 8–10 people, it’s easy to walk a few meters and check the line at another provider if you booked flexibly.

Cars sit in marked rental bays in P1, the multi-storey car park in front of T1, with signed pedestrian access on level 0 within a 2–3 minute walk from the terminal doors. Return is just as simple: follow the “Car Rental Return / Autoverhuur” signs back to P1, drive up the ramp to the rental zone, and drop keys at the desk or a 24/7 key box if you reach the airport after 23:00.

Expect standard Dutch rental pricing, with small manual hatchbacks often starting in the €35–€45 per day range before insurance, while automatics and SUVs push that to €70+ in busy summer weeks. Most desks take major credit cards only, and deposits can run €300–€800 depending on class, so check your card limit before you line up at arrivals in T1.

Road access is straightforward: from the airport exit you join the N2/A2 ring around Eindhoven in about 5 minutes, with signed routes to cities like Den Bosch (roughly 30 minutes via A2) and Maastricht (around 1 hour via A2/A73). GPS units usually cost another €8–€12 per day, but almost every car has Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, so using your phone saves that extra fee.

Practical tip: take 3–4 photos of the car at pickup in P1, including fuel gauge and odometer, and keep the printed checkout slip in your passport wallet until your credit card statement for that rental cycle closes.
