Bus 400 runs to Eindhoven Centraal in about 20 minutes
Bus 400 is the fast airport–city bus linking Eindhoven Airport T1 with Eindhoven Centraal station in roughly 20 minutes outside peak traffic. It’s a regional bus service, not a private shuttle, so you ride with locals heading toward the city. The line runs directly via Woensel XL and the Philips Stadion area, then straight into the main train station bus terminal.
Departures run roughly every 10–15 minutes during daytime hours, with service generally starting just after 05:00 and running until around midnight. From the terminal, follow signs for “Bus/Taxi” and look for the platform labeled for lines 400 and 401 right outside the arrivals hall of T1. You don’t need to prebook; you just tap in or buy a ticket on the spot.
A single trip ticket runs about €4–€5 depending on how you pay, and you can use a contactless bank card, mobile wallet, or an OV-chipkaart to tap in at the card reader by the bus door. If you prefer paper, buy a ticket from the driver or at the ticket machine near the T1 exit, though drivers may only accept cards, not cash. Kids fares and day tickets follow standard Bravo/NS regional pricing, which you’ll see posted at the stop.
At Eindhoven Centraal, Bus 400 drops you at the main bus plaza directly in front of the rail station, where you can catch Intercity trains to Amsterdam, Utrecht, or Rotterdam typically every 15–30 minutes. In the other direction, the bus stop at the airport sits less than 150 meters from arrivals, so with light luggage you’re at the stop in two minutes. The 400 usually shares platforms with line 401, which is slower because it makes extra stops.
For late flights that land after 23:00, check the 400’s timetable in the 9292 or NS app before you board, as headways can stretch to 20–30 minutes near midnight. If you land around Dutch rush hours (about 07:30–09:00 and 16:30–18:00), give yourself an extra 10 minutes in case of city traffic near Eindhoven Centraal. One practical move: sit or stand near the front door so you can tap out quickly and make tight train connections upstairs at the station.
