RTA Bus Route 29 is the city bus that runs from Dubai International Airport (DXB) near Terminals T1 and T3 to Dubai Mall and Business Bay, so it suits anyone whose hotel is closer to Downtown than to a Metro station. The bus is operated by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and uses the same Nol card system as the Metro and tram, with fares starting around AED 3 for short trips.

The airport stop for Route 29 sits outside DXB Terminal 1, a short walk from Arrivals, and many passengers walking over from T3 just follow the “Buses / RTA” signs for about 5–10 minutes. Buses typically run every 15–20 minutes during the day, with slightly wider gaps late at night, and the ride from DXB to Dubai Mall usually takes around 30–40 minutes depending on Sheikh Zayed Road traffic.

You’ll need a Nol card with at least one zone fare loaded before boarding, since drivers do not sell tickets and cash is not accepted; there are Nol machines inside DXB Terminal 1 near the Metro station and at least one RTA counter by Arrivals. A standard Silver Nol card costs AED 25 including AED 19 credit, which usually covers a one-way trip from DXB to Dubai Mall and back within a couple of zones.
