DXB’s official beige Dubai Taxi cars line up 24/7 outside Arrivals at T1, T2, and T3, so even a 02:30 Emirates landing still has cabs on the rank. You ride door-to-door anywhere in the city, which beats hauling checked luggage onto the Red Line if your hotel sits far from a metro stop.

Fares start with a standard flag drop (around AED 5–25 depending on time of day and airport pickup) plus a per‑kilometer meter rate, and you pay in dirhams or by card in most newer cabs. The meter runs from the airport curb to your hotel, so a run from T3 to Downtown Dubai (near Burj Khalifa) often lands in the AED 50–80 range, while Dubai Marina from T3 can climb closer to AED 90–130 in light traffic.

Follow the yellow “Taxi / City Taxis” signs from baggage claim at T1, T2, or T3 and join the official queue; staff in RTA uniforms direct you to the next car. From touchdown to sitting in a taxi can be under 20 minutes on a quiet weekday night, but in the 06:00–09:00 arrival wave the line can stretch enough to add 10–25 minutes.

All Dubai Taxi vehicles run on a government-regulated meter, and you’ll see the starting amount and per‑kilometer rate on the dash before you pull away from DXB. You can ask the driver for an estimated cost to, say, Deira City Centre or Dubai Mall before leaving the curb and compare it against a ride-hailing quote in the AED 40–120 band that most city rides fall into.

Each standard taxi seats four passengers, and the trunk usually swallows two large 23 kg checked bags plus a couple of cabin-size rollers. If your group has more than four people or six bags, ask the dispatcher at T1, T2, or T3 for a larger family taxi or van; they’ll slot you into the correct lane instead of a regular sedan.

One practical tip: screenshot your hotel name and address with the district (for example, “Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence”) before you land, then show it to the driver at the T1, T2, or T3 rank so they punch the destination into the meter without confusion.
