27 € per day gets you into P6, the cheap on-airport lot

P6 Economy Parking sits about 0.3 miles from Dortmund Airport T1 and is one of the airport’s officially labelled “most economical” car parks alongside P3 and P7. Daily rates run at 27 €, undercutting the closer multi-storey options while still keeping you on airport property instead of in a third-party field miles away.

This is a long-stay, outdoor car park with no listed maximum headroom, so vans, SUVs with roof boxes, and taller campers that would not clear P1, P2 or P5 fit here without drama. Surfaces are basic, you are in the open, and there is no mention of covered sections, so plan for weather and frost if you park for a week in January.

Transfer to T1 uses DSW21 bus line 490, which links P5, P6 and P7 to the terminal in just a few minutes. The airport advertises the bus as running daily, and typical daytime headways sit at about every 20 minutes, but treat late nights and early mornings with more caution and check the timetable if your flight leaves at 06:00.

The shuttle is not free: a single ticket on line 490 costs 2 € per person, while children up to 6 ride at no charge. That means a couple doing a week-long trip still comes out ahead versus pricier garages, but big families should factor the bus cost both ways into the total parking bill before locking in P6.

Book P6 in advance on the Dortmund Airport website, then arrive 30–40 minutes earlier than you would for P1 or P2 to allow for parking, the bus wait, and the short ride to T1.
