P1’s EV charger sits on Arrivals level 0, not in a remote lot

The EV Charging Stations at Dortmund Airport are in car park P1 on level 0 of the arrivals area, about a 1‑minute walk from T1. This is the premium multi-storey garage right next to the terminal, so you’re paying P1’s higher tariff just to access the charger. Think of it as terminal-parking prices plus the perk of coming back to a fully charged battery.

P1 holds at least one bay with an innogy/RWE eMOBILITY charging point reserved for electric vehicles, on the arrivals side. Because the supply is tiny and demand keeps creeping up, don’t assume availability for longer trips. This setup makes the most sense for local drivers doing short hops of 1–3 days who prefer to plug in and forget about it rather than hunt for a fast charger on the way home.

Distance-wise, you’re basically parking at the terminal door: it’s a 1‑minute indoor walk from the P1 EV spot to the T1 check-in area. No shuttle, no waiting, no remote bus bay. The trade-off is price: you pay the standard P1 daily rate, which is noticeably higher than the remote surface lots like P3 or P6 that sit further from T1.

Watch out for: this is marked as a remote “type” in some summaries, but in reality P1 is the closest garage at DTM, physically next to the terminal. The real risk is arriving to find the single EV bay already occupied and then being stuck with P1 prices without charging. If that’s a dealbreaker, have a backup plan in a cheaper lot.

Tip: drive straight to P1 level 0 arrivals, check the innogy/RWE bay first, and only pull a ticket if you actually see an open EV space.
