Bar Bintang

Beer, basic cocktails, and snacks before DPS departures

Bar Bintang sits airside in Denpasar’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, inside the International terminal after security, so it works for last-minute drinks before flights to Singapore, Sydney, or beyond. It’s a walk-up bar with stools rather than a full restaurant, and you’ll usually spot it by the prominent Bintang branding near several gates used by AirAsia and Jetstar.

A large Bintang beer typically runs in the IDR 80,000–120,000 range, which is standard airport pricing for Bali. Expect simple mixed drinks, basic spirits, and soft drinks rather than a deep cocktail list. Food is mostly bar snacks and light bites in the IDR 60,000–120,000 bracket, think fries or simple fried items, not a sit-down dinner with mains.

Hours generally track peak international departures, so you’ll usually find Bar Bintang open from around 06:00 until late evening, especially when flights to Australia and East Asia are banked. Early-morning departures on carriers like Qantas or Singapore Airlines still see the bar pouring coffee and beer for those who run on “vacation time” until boarding.

Seats at the counter and nearby high-tops are limited, maybe a dozen or so stools, and can fill quickly during the evening wave around 18:00–22:00. If all the stools are taken, you can still order from the bar and take your drink back toward your nearby gate; staff usually has no issue with that as long as you stay in the general area.

Payment is by card or Indonesian rupiah; contactless works on most foreign cards issued by Visa and Mastercard. Service is quick, so a 20-minute window before boarding is enough for one drink. Tip: check your gate screen before sitting down, as DPS sometimes switches international gates at short notice within the same concourse.
