A&W

Near the International departures food court, A&W is the safest bet if you just want fast food you recognize before a long flight. It sits airside after immigration, so you’re fine on time once you’re past security and passport control. Seating is shared with nearby outlets, and it fills up around the evening bank of departures between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm.

Expect standard A&W pricing for an airport: combo meals usually land in the IDR 60,000–90,000 range, and a root beer float runs around IDR 20,000–30,000. Portions are smaller than US or Canadian A&W outlets but roughly match other fast-food spots in Bali. Cards work, but having a backup of IDR cash helps when their terminal glitches.

Menu is the global greatest hits: burgers, fried chicken, curly fries, and the classic root beer from the tap. If you want a quick sugar and salt hit before a red‑eye to SYD, SIN, or HKG, a chicken combo plus float gets you in and out in under 20 minutes during off‑peak hours. Vegetarian options are basically limited to sides like fries and maybe coleslaw, so plan around that.

Service speed tracks flight waves: at least 10 people in line right after a big arrival dumps into departures, but almost no wait mid‑afternoon between about 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Food comes out hot and consistent with mainland A&W, but don’t expect customization beyond “no pickles” or “extra sauce.” The counter staff switch to limited menu late at night after roughly 11:00 pm.

Tip: if your gate is in the farther International piers, grab your A&W to go and eat at the gate; some of those gates have fewer power outlets, so charge your phone at the food court before you walk the extra 5–10 minutes out.
