5-minute walk to the International terminal from VIP Parking Area
VIP Parking Area sits directly in front of the International terminal arrivals zone at Denpasar I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS), cutting the walk to roughly 5 minutes to check-in. This is the premium, closest-lot option, so you pay more than the general car park but save time in Bali heat and humidity. It’s all on open-air surface level, so you just pull in, grab a ticket, and go straight toward the terminal entrance.
Both International and Domestic passengers can use VIP Parking Area, but it’s physically closer to the International terminal than the Domestic building by several hundred meters. If you’re flying Domestic, budget closer to 8–10 minutes on foot or add a short ride with a drop-off at Domestic departures. The lot layout is simple: a single entry barrier, rows of angled spaces, and one exit back to the main airport road.
Pricing runs higher than the regular DPS parking, with hourly rates stepping up after the first hour and day rates kicking in around the 24-hour mark. This makes VIP Parking Area workable for same-day trips or 1–2 night hops, but it starts to sting for week-long holidays. Payment is at staffed booths on exit, and most visitors report cash in Indonesian rupiah as the easiest option, with cards sometimes accepted but slower.
Lighting stays on through the night around the VIP Parking Area, and traffic police often circulate the front access road a few times per hour. Still, this is an outdoor lot in a tropical climate, so plan for full sun on your car most of the day and heavy rain runoff during wet season. If you care about interior heat, aim for a shaded edge spot near the terminal trees and keep a sunshade in the car.
Practical tip: Snap a photo of your row and the VIP Parking Area entrance sign as you walk toward International departures; it saves 5–10 minutes of wandering when you land back at DPS in the dark.
