The International Parking Area sits directly in front of the International terminal at Denpasar (DPS), about a 2–4 minute walk to departures depending on traffic at the crosswalk. This is the main short-term car park for drop-offs, quick pick-ups, and meeting arriving passengers. You stay landside; there’s no need for a shuttle or extra transfer between the lot and the terminal.
This is short-term parking with pricing charged by the hour, aimed at stays of a few hours rather than overnight. Entry is via a barrier gate with ticket machines that timestamp your arrival to calculate the fee on exit. Pay stations near the pedestrian exits accept cash in Indonesian rupiah and usually cards, but smaller bills (IDR 10,000–50,000) tend to be faster to process. Keep your ticket dry; damaged tickets often trigger a manual fee check and delay on exit.
International Parking Area sits on the same side of the road as International departures, so you avoid crossing the main airport access lanes with luggage. Walking time from the farthest corner of the lot to the terminal doors runs around 5–7 minutes at a normal pace. Spaces are standard-width surface bays; there’s no height restriction, so taller vehicles and vans generally fit without issue, unlike some covered garage options at other airports.
The lot stays busiest during evening international bank departures, roughly 18:00–23:00, when many long-haul flights leave DPS. At those times, cars can queue a few minutes at the entry barrier. Payment queues also build right after large arrivals. If you’re meeting someone off a wide-body flight, plan an extra 10–15 minutes for finding a space and paying on your way out.
Tip: If you’re only dropping a passenger at International departures and staying under 15–20 minutes, check the posted grace period at the entry barrier; brief stays can sometimes be cheaper than an hour, but only if you exit before the timer clicks over.
