All international flights at COK run out of Terminal 3

Every Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and Air India international flight at Cochin uses Terminal 3, signed as T3 International. It sits a short shuttle or walk away from the domestic terminals (T1 and T2), so double-check your ticket before getting dropped off. Arrivals and departures are stacked on separate levels, with immigration and security in the middle and all restaurants and shops past security.

Immigration queues in T3 can spike around late-night bank departures, especially when multiple Emirates and Qatar Airways flights bunch up. Land two hours before departure for regional routes, three hours for long-haul, and you’re usually fine. Security is after outbound immigration; once you pass it, you’re fully airside and everything listed below is post-security. There’s a single main concourse, so you can walk from one end to the other in under 10 minutes at a normal pace.

Food options in T3 cluster around the central departures hall near the main duty-free zone. Sanchaari by Chef Pillai focuses on Kerala dishes; go for a fish curry or biryani if you want a last local meal before an Emirates or Etihad overnight. Spice Bowl leans toward Indian staples and rice plates. Burger Bay and Noodle Bar cover basic burgers and Asian bowls if you want familiar fast food. Prices run higher than city levels, roughly 400–800 INR for most mains, but still cheaper than many other international hubs.

Sky Bar sits airside in departures and stays open through the late-night wave of flights, so you can get a beer or mixed drink at 1:00 a.m. if your Qatar Airways connection runs late. Expect standard airport bar markup and basic snacks more than full meals. If you want a proper sit-down meal, eat at Sanchaari or Spice Bowl first, then use Sky Bar just for a final drink.

Cochin Duty Free in T3 spreads across both arrivals and departures, with the main shop right after security and before the gates. Spirits and cigarettes often price better than in Doha or Dubai, and you’ll see big regional whisky and rum brands stocked alongside the global labels. For gifts, hit Spice Market for boxed spices and teas and Coconut Grove for coconut-based snacks and oils; both sit in the same retail strip as the Book Store and Watch Studio.

For Kerala-focused souvenirs, Kerala Handicrafts, Handloom House, and Jewellery Corner line one side of the main shopping corridor between the central seating area and several Emirates and Etihad gates. You’ll see traditional textiles, bronze items, and gold-plated jewelry at tourist prices, but the quality usually beats what you’d find at generic souvenir carts. Fashion Accessories and Travel Essentials sit nearby for last-minute power banks, neck pillows, and chargers before a long-haul flight.

Business travelers can duck into the Tridas Business Centre in T3 for basic printing and meeting space, useful if you need documents before an Air India or Emirates check-in. An Ayurvedic Spa Kiosk on the concourse offers short chair massages and foot rubs, typically 15–30 minute slots, priced in the mid-hundreds of rupees. Both sit airside, so you can use them after security while watching gate screens.

T3 has several lounges: Earth Lounge, VIP Lounge, Taj Lounge, Kerala Spice Lounge, Air India Maharaja Lounge, and the Axis Bank Lounge. Access rules vary by airline, cabin, and card; premium passengers on Air India, Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways are usually sent to one of these, sometimes on a contract basis. FlyerTalk regulars tend to call the lounges average, with basic buffet food and decent Wi‑Fi but nothing special, so don’t arrive at T3 four hours early just for lounge time.

Watch out for long queues at peak times in both immigration and security, often around midnight banks when Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Qatar Airways all depart within a couple of hours. Food and lounge options thin out toward the far gates, so grab what you need near the central duty-free cluster before walking down to your gate. One solid play: clear formalities, eat at Sanchaari by Chef Pillai, then do a quick sweep of Spice Market and Coconut Grove for gifts before heading to boarding.
