5-7 minutes on foot from T1, P5 is BLQ’s budget lot
P5 Low Cost sits a short walk from Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport’s T1 terminal, normally 5–7 minutes on foot depending on bags. It’s an open-air economy car park, so you trade shade and proximity for a lower daily rate compared with the closer multistory options right next to the terminal.
This is official airport parking, managed by BLQ, and connects directly to T1 via pedestrian paths. You park your own car and keep your keys, which frequent drivers generally prefer over valet-style setups. Signage for P5 appears on the airport access road as “P5 Low Cost” and spaces are standard outdoor bays, not covered.
Advance online booking on the Bologna Airport site typically prices P5 noticeably below the on-the-day tariff at nearer lots like P2 and P3. The economics start to make sense for trips of 2–3 days and longer, when that lower daily rate adds up. Gates operate 24/7 in line with airport hours, so late-night arrivals and early-morning departures are fine.
P5 works best if your flight uses T1, which is currently the only terminal at BLQ. There’s no shuttle; you’re committing to the short walk with your luggage. The surface is paved, lighting is standard mast lighting, and entry and exit use automatic barrier systems with a ticket or QR code, depending on how you booked.
Practical tip: if you have heavy bags or small kids, drop them at the T1 departures curb on the upper level first, then loop back to park in P5 Low Cost and walk in light.
