€40 here can cut your BLQ security time to ~15 minutes

Marconi Business Lounge in T1 sits landside on the first floor, just above departures, and its real trick is a private fast track door straight from the lounge into security. Regulars use it as a paid queue-jump: pay the €40 day pass, grab a quick drink, then head through the dedicated entrance and reach the boarding area in roughly 10–15 minutes even in the evening rush.

The lounge opens daily from 05:00 to 21:00, but several FlyerTalk users report that the fast track door often closes around 19:00, after which you must rejoin the regular security line downstairs. It’s technically before security, so you still need to leave enough time for checks and, if relevant, passport control; don’t sit here past T-45 for Schengen or T-60 for non‑Schengen flights.

Access is via most airline invitations, Priority Pass and paid walk‑in at €40, with the same space now also branded as Prima Vista/MBL VIP in some systems. Because BLQ really only has this one generic contract lounge, it fills quickly during the morning departure bank from T1, so expect a crowd around 06:30–09:00 when multiple flights board at once.

Food is basic: reviews mention biscuits, a few pastries, some cold cuts with bread, and packet snacks, plus self‑service soft drinks and coffee machines. Several TripAdvisor posts complain that this spread feels thin for a €40 fee, especially when items run out later in the evening, so don’t count on more than a light nibble before your flight.

The room itself has drawn criticism for feeling like a windowless box with mirrors, vinyl or otherwise tired seating, and a slightly awkward layout. Bloggers note that power outlets are scarce and often nowhere near many chairs, so if you spot a seat next to a plug, grab it immediately rather than waiting until the 08:00 rush hits.

Facilities on paper include Wi‑Fi and showers, but the fine print matters: connectivity uses the standard airport network and reportedly slows at peaks, and multiple guests say shower rooms are locked or “out of service” much of the day. Regulars who really need a shower aim for early morning, around the 05:00–07:00 window, before staff quietly close them.

What frequent users actually do: they pop in off‑peak, typically between the morning and late‑afternoon banks, charge devices at one of the few powered spots, then time their exit to use the private security door. If you’re only buying a walk‑in pass for the fast track hack, check at reception that the dedicated door is still open before handing over €40.

Bottom line tip: treat this lounge as a time‑saver rather than a meal stop, and set an alarm 60 minutes before departure so you don’t lose track of time on the landside side of T1.
