Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, Via Triumvirato, 84, 40132 Bologna, Italy

There is no separate ITA Airways Lounge at BLQ.

At Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport T1, ITA Airways business-class and status passengers use the generic Marconi/Prima Vista Lounge in the Schengen area rather than a branded ITA lounge. SkyTeam flyers on ITA, Air France, and KLM on Schengen flights all funnel into this same contract space near the gates.

The lounge sits airside in the Schengen zone of T1, after security and passport control, so you only access it once you hold a same-day boarding pass. If your ITA flight departs from a non-Schengen gate, you still pass through this area first and then walk to your departure gate, which can add 5–10 minutes of backtracking.

Hours track the main flight banks, typically opening in the morning before the first ITA and other SkyTeam departures and running until the last evening Schengen flights, though exact times shift with the schedule. During renovation periods mentioned in 2023 FlyerTalk posts, the Marconi Business Lounge was still the only option for SkyTeam elites, with no backup ITA-branded room offered.

Access rules follow the usual pattern: ITA business-class and SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers get in based on status or cabin, and some bank or lounge membership programs sell paid entry at the desk, usually in the €30–€40 range per person. If you hold a generic lounge card, check that it lists “Prima Vista” or “Marconi Business Lounge BLQ” at T1 Schengen before you rely on it for an ITA connection.

Inside, expect the standard contract-lounge setup: self-service snacks, soft drinks, and basic wine options rather than anything ITA-specific on the buffet. Free Wi‑Fi runs through the airport network, and power outlets sit along some seating rows, so pick a chair near the walls if you need to charge your phone before your BLQ–FCO or BLQ–LIN hop.

Watch out for crowding in the 60–90 minutes before clustered departures to hubs like Paris CDG, Amsterdam AMS, and Rome FCO, when multiple SkyTeam flights depart from T1’s Schengen gates. If you value a guaranteed seat more than lounge coffee, it can be smarter to grab an espresso in the public terminal for about €1.50 and head to the gate a bit earlier.

Practical tip: check BLQ lounge status and renovation notes the week before you fly; if the Marconi/Prima Vista Lounge is temporarily closed, assume there is no alternative ITA Airways Lounge on site and plan to stay in the main terminal instead.
