First departure hits BCN around 11:30 pm most nights
NitBus N18 is the night bus linking both T1 and T2 to central Barcelona when the L9 Sud metro shuts down. It runs roughly from 11:30 pm to 5:00 am, filling the gap between the last trains and the first morning services. You board curbside outside Arrivals at T1 and T2, with blue-and-yellow NitBus signs marking the stops.
Standard single ticket runs about €2.55, and you can pay the N18 driver in cash or tap a T-casual or similar ATM card. The line heads toward Plaça de Catalunya via Gran Via and Plaça d’Espanya, so you hit several big hotel and hostel zones on one route. Figure 35–45 minutes from T1 to Plaça de Catalunya if traffic on the C-31 is light.
Frequency sits at about every 20–30 minutes, so factor that into late-night arrivals on long-haul flights into T1. If you land around 1:00 am, expect to wait up to one full interval at the stop, especially on weekday nights. Stops are announced in Catalan and Spanish, and the bus shows “N18” and main destinations on the front LED sign.
N18 serves both airport terminals directly, but note that some trips start at T1 and then swing through T2 a few minutes later. If you land at T2 around 3:00 am, check the timetable posted at the shelter; it lists separate times for T1 and T2, with the offset usually around 5–10 minutes. The same applies inbound: from the city, check if your bus is marked for T1 or T2.
Compared with late-night taxis from BCN, which often run €30–€40 into the Eixample, N18 cuts the cost sharply for solo travelers. You can still pair it with a short €8–€12 cab ride from Plaça de Catalunya or Plaça d’Espanya if your hotel sits outside walking range at 2:00 am. That combo often lands under €20 total.
Practical tip: Screenshot the N18 route map and times before you land, because airport Wi‑Fi can stall at Arrivals and the NitBus website occasionally lags after midnight.
