Aerobus A2

Express bus to Plaça Catalunya

Express bus to Plaça Catalunya

Tickets start at about €6.75 for the Aerobus A2

Aerobus A2 runs between Barcelona Airport and Plaça Catalunya in central Barcelona, with a fixed, express route and no advance reservation needed. The bus serves both T1 and T2 at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN), and the ride into the city usually takes 30–35 minutes depending on traffic. You pay per ride, not per stop, and the same ticket covers the full airport–city run.

Buses run roughly every 10 minutes during the day, and the Aerobus A2 operates daily from early morning into late night, with an overnight gap of a few hours that shifts slightly by season. The line terminates at Plaça Catalunya, close to key metro lines L1 and L3 and several RENFE and FGC train options, making it easy to switch to local transport once you get off the bus. Most departures use large, luggage-friendly coaches with space for suitcases near the doors.

You can buy tickets from machines at T1 and T2, from staff at the curbside stops, or online for the same base price of around €6.75 one-way and about €11.65 round-trip. Contactless card payments work on the street-level machines at the airport and at Plaça Catalunya, so you do not need euros in cash. Kids under a certain age ride free or discounted depending on current policy, so double-check the printed fare chart at the stop before buying.

The Aerobus A2 stop at T1 sits outside the arrivals level, signposted with blue Aerobus branding, while at T2 the stop is on the roadway in front of the terminal near the taxi rank. In the city, Aerobus A2 uses marked stops at Plaça Catalunya and a few intermediate points such as Sepúlveda–Urgell on the way in and out. The same ticket works both directions, but the round-trip ticket usually must be used within about 15 days from purchase, printed on the ticket itself.

Give yourself at least 45–60 minutes from landing at BCN to boarding Aerobus A2 at T1 or T2, accounting for bags and passport control, and another 35 minutes into Plaça Catalunya before any train or metro connections you plan downtown.
