Seats from BCN T1 to Costa Dorada towns on MonBus

First thing: MonBus runs long-distance coaches from Barcelona Airport T1 to several south coast destinations like Tarragona, Cambrils, Salou, and PortAventura. Most airport departures use the T1 coach area on the ground level, near the long-distance bus bays, and many services line up with flights arriving in the late morning and late afternoon.

MonBus does not currently pick up at T2, so if your flight lands in T2 you first take the free green shuttle bus over to T1; the ride between T2 and T1 usually takes around 10 minutes and the stop signs clearly show “T1” on the front of the airport shuttles.

Tickets on MonBus airport routes often sit in the €10–€20 range depending on your exact stop (Tarragona is usually cheaper than Salou or Cambrils), and you can generally buy from the driver with cash or card, though buying online on the MonBus website or app the day before secures a seat number for busy summer dates in July and August.

Most airport–coast trips on MonBus take around 60–90 minutes from T1 to towns like Tarragona (about 1 hour) or Salou and Cambrils (often 75–90 minutes), which comes out faster and simpler than taking the RENFE train into Barcelona Sants and then changing to another train to reach the Costa Dorada resorts.

Timetables change between winter and summer seasons, and some departures only run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, so always check the exact T1–Tarragona or T1–Salou schedule on the official MonBus timetable for the date you land instead of assuming there is an hourly service all day.

Coaches usually have air conditioning, underfloor luggage storage for big suitcases, and overhead racks for smaller bags, and many of the newer MonBus vehicles on the airport line include Wi‑Fi and USB charging ports at seats, though you should still board with your phone at least 50% charged in case your specific bus is an older model without sockets.

Final tip: when you exit T1 Arrivals, follow signs for “Buses / Coaches” down to the ground-floor bays, look for the bay sign that shows “MonBus” and your destination (for example, “Tarragona – Salou – Cambrils”), and get there at least 10–15 minutes before the printed departure so you can stash luggage below before the queue builds.
