Pickup from BCN T1 or T2 on the arrivals level
Cabify runs 24/7 at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN), picking up at both T1 and T2 on the public arrivals curb, not in the taxi queue. You book through the Cabify app, which works in English and Spanish and bills to a saved card, so you don’t need euros in cash.
From BCN to central Barcelona (Plaça de Catalunya area), Cabify rides usually price between €25 and €40 depending on time of day and demand, similar to or slightly under the official taxi flat rate. The app shows the fare estimate before you confirm, and most rides into town take 20–35 minutes in normal traffic.
At T1, your driver normally meets you outside the main arrivals exit on the lower level, next to the standard car pickup lane and separate from the bus bays. Plan on 5–10 minutes from collecting bags to reaching the curb, since the walk from the baggage belts to the doors in T1 can be over 300 meters.
At T2, Cabify pickup usually happens outside the T2B arrivals doors, by the private car area, not directly in front of T2C’s older low-cost section. If you land at T2C on an airline like Vueling, factor in a 5–7 minute walk under the covered walkway to the T2B curb.
Cabify offers several categories in Barcelona, including basic sedans, larger vehicles (XL) for 4–6 passengers, and higher-end options, with XL rides from BCN to Eixample often running around €35–€50. If you’re traveling with skis, bikes, or more than two checked bags per person, pick XL in the app so the car size matches your load.
For flights departing T1, many locals set their Cabify drop-off at “Sortides T1” and aim to arrive 2 hours before a Schengen flight and 3 hours before non‑Schengen, as security and passport control at BCN can spike to 30–40 minutes at busy times. For T2 departures, choose “Terminal 2 – Sortides” and check your exact section (T2A, T2B, T2C) in the airline email.
One practical tip: order your Cabify once you have luggage in hand, not at touchdown, since bags at BCN can take 15–25 minutes, and the app may charge waiting time if the driver reaches the curb too early.
