The Irish Pub

Pints and pub grub near the piers at AMS

The Irish Pub sits airside at Amsterdam Schiphol, past security, so you’re already through the hard part before you order a drink. It’s a standard airport pub setup: long bar, a bunch of two-tops, and screens usually showing Premier League or other live sports. Expect classic dark wood and green accents rather than anything sleek or modern, and expect it to feel busy around the 07:00–10:00 and 16:00–20:00 banks of flights.

Beer is the main draw, with draft Guinness and a couple of mainstream lagers typically on tap, plus bottled options in the €6–€9 range. Mixed drinks and basic long drinks sit a bit higher, roughly in the €9–€13 band depending on brand. If you just want something quick before boarding, most staff are fine serving a single pint in under 10 minutes when it’s not peak time, but that can double once the evening departures ramp up.

Food runs toward pub standards: burgers, fries, chicken dishes, and a few simple snacks. Portions line up with airport expectations and prices land mostly in the €15–€22 range for mains, with sides and snacks at about €6–€9. Nothing here competes with central Amsterdam, but it beats grabbing only a packaged sandwich from the nearby convenience spots when you’ve got a 90-minute layover to kill.

Service swings with the terminal crowd and gate banks; one server might be covering 8–10 tables during the 18:00 wave of long-haul flights. Build in at least 45 minutes if you want a sit-down meal plus a drink, and more if your boarding time is close and your gate is a longer walk away on the pier.

Tip: Check your gate on the Schiphol screens before you sit; some F and G pier walks can add 12–15 minutes to your time from barstool to boarding queue.
