Burger King

Whopper combo runs around €10 at this Schiphol Burger King

Amsterdam Schiphol’s Burger King sits airside in the main departures lounge, handy if you’re killing time between EU flights and don’t want a long sit-down meal. You order at the counter or kiosks, grab a tray, and usually find a seat nearby in the shared seating area. Lines spike in the 07:00–10:00 and 17:00–20:00 bank, then thin out in the mid-afternoon.

Menu is the standard Burger King playbook: Whopper, Double Whopper, Bacon King, chicken sandwiches, nuggets, and fries. Expect around €8–€9 for a basic burger meal and closer to €11–€12 for larger combos or specials. Soft drinks sit near €3 for a medium, and you can usually tack on a small dessert or ice cream for a couple of euros more.

Breakfast runs in the early morning bank, typically until about 10:30, with croissant-and-coffee deals under €6 and breakfast sandwiches in the €5–€7 range. That helps if you arrived on an overnight flight into AMS before 08:00 and want something predictable before heading to your Schengen gate. Coffee here is cheaper than many landside cafés, though still airport pricing.

Food lands fast: most trays in under 10 minutes, even when queues stack 10–15 people deep. Fries can be hit-or-miss on temperature during off-peak hours, but burgers generally match what you’d get at a city Burger King in Amsterdam Centrum. If you care about a fresh fry batch, order “no salt” and salt them yourself at the condiment station so they have to drop a new portion.

One practical tip: watch the departure screens by the seating area and aim to finish eating at least 30 minutes before boarding if your flight leaves from a non-Schengen pier like E or F, since those walks can easily run 10–15 minutes from the central lounge.
