McDonald's

€2–3 cheeseburgers and all-day fries at Schiphol’s McDonald’s

McDonald’s sits airside in Amsterdam Schiphol, in the main passenger area after security, and keeps long hours that usually run from early morning into late evening, matching the bank of transatlantic and European departures. You’re paying airport pricing, but not crazy: a basic cheeseburger or small fries often lands around €2–3, and a standard menu meal tends to sit in the €9–11 range depending on size and drink.

This is a full counter-service McDonald’s with the usual self-order kiosks plus a staffed till, so you can tap an order in English or Dutch in under a minute and grab a Big Mac, McChicken, or McPlant before heading back to gates B, C, or D. Coffee runs close to Dutch high-street prices, and you’ll find breakfast staples in the mornings like Egg McMuffin-style sandwiches and hash browns until roughly 10:30–11:00.

Food quality tracks with mainland European McDonald’s standards: fries are usually hot if you order during the main waves around 07:00–09:00, 12:00–14:00, and 18:00–20:00, and chicken items like the McChicken or McNuggets tend to be more consistent than the burgers during quieter mid-afternoon lulls. Drink refills are not free by default in the Netherlands, so a large soft drink is worth the €0.50–1 extra if you’re sitting for a while.

Seating sits just off the main concourse and fills fast once the big KLM and easyJet banks hit, so at peak times you may wait 5–10 minutes to find a table near the counter. Lines can snake out toward the walkway at lunchtime, but they usually clear in 10–15 minutes thanks to multiple ordering points and a semi-organized pickup screen.

Tip: if your boarding pass shows a B or C gate and your flight boards in under 30 minutes, mobile-order or kiosk-order takeaway, skip hunting for a seat, and walk straight to your gate before unwrapping your burger.
