Terminal 1 hosts Syrian Air. It's Syrian Air's home turf at ALP. You'll find 3 dining options, 3 lounges, 5 shops here.
One-passenger-terminal layout, all Syrian Air flights use it
The current passenger terminal at Aleppo International Airport is Terminal 1, and every scheduled passenger flight boards from here on Syrian Air. The building is compact, with a single main departures hall and check-in counters lined up opposite the entrance doors. Security screening sits just past check-in, so you move from curb to checkpoint in only a few dozen meters. Arrivals use the ground floor on the same side of the building, with baggage claim carousels directly behind customs.
Check-in, security, and getting to your gate
Syrian Air check-in desks sit in the central zone of Terminal 1, and staff typically open counters around 2 hours before departure. The security checkpoint sits immediately after passport control, in the same main hall, so there is no train or bus transfer between areas. With only one terminal and one main concourse, walking time from check-in to the farthest gate is usually under 10 minutes. Domestic and international departures share the same departures level, separated only by passport control lines.
Café Aleppo, Bistro Aleppo, and Aleppo Bar
Café Aleppo, Bistro Aleppo, and Aleppo Bar are all inside Terminal 1, after security in the departures area. Café Aleppo handles basic coffee, tea, and light snacks, good if you want something small while waiting for a Syrian Air boarding call. Bistro Aleppo is the spot for a fuller plate, with simple hot dishes and soft drinks you can comfortably finish in 30 to 40 minutes. Aleppo Bar caters to beer and spirits drinkers and usually keeps standard regional labels; prices trend above city levels, so plan on airport markups for anything stronger than tea.
Lounges: Priority Pass, Amex Centurion, Capital One
Terminal 1 lists three lounges by program: a Priority Pass Lounge, an Amex Centurion Lounge, and a Capital One Lounge, all airside past security. Access for the Priority Pass Lounge generally runs through a membership card or same-day boarding pass with an eligible bank issuer. Amex Centurion Lounge entry usually needs a Platinum or Centurion card plus a same-day Syrian Air flight, and Capital One Lounge follows similar cardholder rules. These lounges typically group near the departures gates, so walking time from a lounge to most boarding doors sits in the 3 to 5 minute range.
Shopping: duty free and basics
Post-security in Terminal 1, the Duty Free Shop carries tax-free cigarettes, basic perfumes, chocolates, and a few spirits brands; it sits close to the main gate area. An Electronics Store offers travel adapters, headphones, and phone cables, which helps if you forgot a charger before a Syrian Air flight. The Fashion Boutique leans on clothes and accessories such as scarves and bags, and the Souvenir Shop stocks Aleppo- and Syria-themed gifts. A Travel Essentials Store rounds things out with bottled water, packaged snacks, and small toiletries, useful if your liquids bag got pulled at security.
Layout, seating, and boarding
Departures seating in Terminal 1 lines up along the main concourse near each boarding gate, with rows of metal chairs facing the apron. Boarding for Syrian Air tends to start around 30 to 40 minutes before scheduled departure, and gate agents announce boarding by zone or row over the PA. There are standard restroom blocks near the café area and again closer to the far gates, so you are never more than a few minutes’ walk from facilities. Ground boarding via buses still happens on some flights, so expect a short ride across the apron instead of a jet bridge at certain stands.
One last practical tip
A good rule for Terminal 1 at Aleppo is to arrive at least 2 hours before international Syrian Air departures so you have room for check-in, passport control, and a quick stop at Café Aleppo or the Duty Free Shop. With only one terminal and limited flights, lines can build quickly if two departures overlap within the same 60-minute window.
