Snack Bar

Gate-side caffeine and snacks before T1 and T2 departures

Snack Bar is one of the basic food options at Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport, serving passengers from both T1 and T2 once they’re through security. Expect a simple counter-service setup with grab-and-go items and quick drinks rather than a sit-down restaurant. It’s the kind of place you hit on the way to an evening Air Côte d’Ivoire or Air France flight when you don’t want to wander far from the gate area.

Pricing runs higher than downtown Abidjan: plan on airport markups of about 20–40% compared with Plateau cafés. A soft drink or bottled water usually sits in the XOF 1,000–1,500 range, and basic pastries or packaged snacks land around XOF 1,500–3,000. That’s manageable for a light bite, but paying that for a full “meal” here feels steep compared to eating before you reach the airport.

Food skew is simple: think pre-made sandwiches, pastries, chips, and candy rather than hot plated dishes. If you want something reliable, stick to sealed items like bottled drinks, packaged biscuits, and factory-wrapped snacks with visible expiration dates printed on the side. Fresh items can sit in the case for a while on slower days, especially outside the evening departure banks between roughly 18:00 and 23:00.

Service is counter-only and usually quick, even in the T1 international area during busy check-in waves for flights to Paris, Dakar, and regional hubs. You order, pay, and go; there’s rarely a line of more than 5–10 people, and turnaround for a coffee or soda sits under five minutes. Seating nearby tends to be standard gate chairs rather than dedicated tables, so plan to take your tray or bottle back to your boarding area.

Tip: hit an ATM or pay with card before heading here; smaller counters at ABJ sometimes struggle to make change for XOF 10,000 notes, especially late at night after 22:00.
