Five minutes from T2 check-in, Café 1 covers the basics
Café 1 sits landside in Terminal T2, before security, and runs daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. That means it works for both early Air Côte d’Ivoire departures and evening regional arrivals, especially if you’re waiting on ground transport. It’s a simple coffee shop setup: counter service, a few tables, and takeaway-friendly packaging.
Prices sit at the low end for ABJ, roughly $ by airport standards, so coffee and a pastry won’t wreck your per diem. Expect standard espresso drinks, basic drip coffee, soft drinks, and bottled water. Nothing here is experimental; think quick caffeine, not third-wave tasting notes. If you just need a 10-minute caffeine stop before security queues build at T2, this is the spot.
The move here is the croissant, which functions as Café 1’s de facto signature. Fresh batches usually appear early in the day, so a 6:00–9:00 AM visit has the best odds for something still warm. Pair it with an espresso or café au lait and you’ve got a workable breakfast before clearing security. Later in the day, stock can sit a bit, so manage expectations on flakiness after mid-afternoon.
Since Café 1 sits outside security, you’re trading peace of mind on your gate for a calmer pre-checkpoint break. Plan your timing: lines at T2 security can easily hit 20–30 minutes during morning and evening banks. If you’re tight on time or checking bags right before cut-off, skip a second round of drinks and head airside instead.
Practical tip: if you land in T1 and need to meet someone departing from T2, agree to link up at Café 1 by name; it’s one of the few clearly labeled cafés landside, and its 6 AM–10 PM hours cover most connection windows.
