Near T1 check-in, Cafeteria Bar is the quick option
This small spot sits landside near Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport’s T1 counters, so you can grab something before security if you’re early or waiting on a ride. It’s a basic bar-plus-snacks setup, not a full restaurant, and works best for a short sit-down while you watch the departure boards for your ABJ flight.
Opening hours track the main wave of flights, roughly from early morning to late evening, so you’ll usually find it open for a 07:00 departure or a 21:00 arrival. Expect simple sandwiches, pastries, and soft drinks, with a straightforward bar pouring beer and standard spirits. Prices run higher than central Abidjan cafés but typical for an international airport, with a drink and snack often landing around 4,000–6,000 XOF.
Seating is limited to a handful of tables and bar stools, so in peak T1 check-in windows for Air Côte d’Ivoire or Air France departures it can feel tight. Service pace lines up with airport timing: staff move quickly when a queue forms after a large group arrives from a hotel shuttle. Don’t plan a long business meeting here; think 20–30 minutes to reset, have a drink, and head to security.
Cafeteria Bar sits before security, so once you pass into T1 or T2’s sterile areas you won’t come back without re-clearing. That makes it a better choice for arrivals waiting on baggage at ABJ or for people seeing off family on regional flights. Payment usually works with cash in XOF plus major cards, but card terminals at ABJ can be temperamental, so carry at least 5,000 XOF as backup.
Tip: If your check-in opens less than 90 minutes before departure, order something you can finish in 10–15 minutes and move toward security as soon as your airline counter shows your flight number.
