Sablier

Restaurant

E

Top-floor restaurant above Gates E with runway views

Sablier sits on the top level of Terminal E at Zurich Airport, up the escalators from the E-gate duty free area, and it actually feels like a real city restaurant instead of gate food. It’s airside in E, so only useful if you’re flying non‑Schengen long haul or connecting through E. Figure a 5–7 minute walk from the furthest E-gates if you don’t dawdle in duty free.

The menu runs to full mains rather than snacks, so budget Swiss prices: expect around CHF 25–30 for lighter dishes and CHF 35–50 for larger plates. It’s table service, with wine by the glass easily hitting CHF 10–15. This is a sit-down meal spot, not a 15‑minute grab‑and‑go before boarding.

Hours track long-haul banks, generally opening in the morning and staying open into the evening to catch the late E‑gate departures. Check the day-of in the airport app if you land after 20:00, as closing times can slide a bit earlier outside peak. With that timing, it’s workable for both early Swiss long‑haul departures and late transatlantic flights from E.

Order here if you actually have 60–90 minutes at Terminal E and don’t want another generic sandwich from the B/D concourse. Skip it if your connection time at ZRH is under 50 minutes or your flight leaves from A or B/D; between the shuttle ride and passport control swings, you can burn 20–25 minutes each way. Tip: check your gate assignment first — if you’re not departing E, stay in your own pier and eat there instead.
