Gate E-area passengers get Flooat as the quick fix
Flooat sits airside in Terminal E, aimed at passengers who already cleared passport control for non-Schengen flights. It’s a small service counter, not a lounge or full shop, so think “short stop before boarding at E-gates” rather than an errand run from A or B/D. If your flight leaves from a remote E stand, you’re in the right neighborhood; if you’re at A or B/D, the train ride out here makes less sense just for this.
Opening hours track long-haul banks in Terminal E, typically from early morning departures through late-night flights to hubs in Asia and North America. That means it’s usually open for the 06:00–09:00 wave, the mid-afternoon departures, and the late evening pushes after 21:00, though exact times float a bit with the schedule. Prices line up with Zurich Airport norms, so expect premium-airport levels rather than city-center deals.
Because Flooat classifies as a service outlet rather than retail or food, think in terms of quick passenger support: something you sort in under 5–10 minutes while watching the screens for your E-gate. It’s post-security, so you can only use it after passing through the main checkpoints in A/B/D and taking the Skymetro out to E. Don’t plan this as a first-stop errand right after check-in at the landside counters.
Tip: if your connection into ZRH arrives at A or B/D and your next flight goes from E, budget the usual 15–20 minutes for the Skymetro and walking, then add an extra 5–10 minutes if you want time at Flooat before boarding starts.
