Schengen Business Lounge

T1’s Schengen gates sit a few minutes’ walk from this lounge

The Schengen Business Lounge sits airside in Terminal 1, after security and passport control for Schengen departures. Follow signs for Schengen gates on the upper level; walking time from the main security checkpoint is about 5–7 minutes. Only business-class passengers on eligible airlines and elite status holders on partner programs get in, so expect staff to check both boarding pass and frequent flyer card at the desk.

Opening hours typically track the main morning and afternoon departure banks in T1, with doors open from around 05:00 until the last Schengen flights head out in the late evening. If you have an early departure around 06:30–07:00, this is one of the few quiet seats with power outlets before the gate areas start to fill. Double-check same-day hours at check-in if you’re landing on a late rotation after 21:00.

Food runs more “snack bar” than full meal, so eat properly in Venice if you can. Expect light bites such as packaged pastries at breakfast, a few cold items like sandwiches during the day, and small sweets later on. Portions are modest, so plan on topping up rather than replacing lunch. Coffee machines usually offer basic espresso, cappuccino, and hot water for tea, with soft drinks and a couple of bottled options in the fridge.

On the drinks side, you’ll usually find at least one Italian wine plus standard spirits on a self-serve counter. Beer is typically from mainstream brands, often in small bottles or cans. Nothing here competes with a proper bacaro in town, but it’s fine for a quick glass of prosecco before a 2–3 hour hop to another Schengen city. Drink selection can thin out toward the last waves of departures, especially after 20:00.

Seating is mostly armchairs and small tables, with a limited number of spots near wall sockets, so grab one of those first if you need to charge a laptop before a 90-minute flight. Wi‑Fi is shared with the airport network and usually handles email and streaming at the same time; figure on speeds similar to what you see near the gates. Restrooms are located inside or immediately adjacent to the lounge area, which saves a few minutes compared with using the main T1 facilities.

Practical tip: if your Schengen flight from VCE boards from a remote stand by bus, aim to leave the lounge when boarding first shows on screens, as the walk from the lounge to the farthest bus gates can take a solid 7–8 minutes.
