Taxi

Base fare starts around €5 from Turin Airport T1

Radio Taxi operates from Turin Airport’s T1 terminal, with cars lined up outside Arrivals on the ground floor. You’ll see the official taxi stand just beyond the main exit doors, marked “Taxi” with white cars and a checkered sign. No walk is more than 2–3 minutes from baggage claim to the queue.

The ride from TRN to central Turin (Porta Nuova area) usually runs 25–35 minutes, depending on A55 traffic and time of day. Daytime fares into the city center often land in the €30–€40 range, including the airport supplement and normal traffic. Drivers use the meter; you don’t need to negotiate a price.

Official Radio Taxi cars are white, carry a roof light with “TAXI,” and show their license number on the front doors. The company dispatch center is reachable via local phone at +39 numbers posted at the stand, useful if you arrive late after the last bus. You can also ask the airport information desk in T1 Arrivals for the current Radio Taxi phone number.

Taxis accept cash in euros, and many cars now take cards (Visa/Mastercard), but card readers in Italy still fail often enough that it’s smart to have at least €50 in notes. For a rough rule: short hops around 5 km from the airport business parks stay under €20 on the meter, barring heavy congestion.

If you’re in a group of three or four splitting the fare, Radio Taxi usually works out cheaper per person than the single airport bus ticket, which runs about €7 per rider into town. Most sedans handle four passengers and two full-size checked bags; more luggage than that can trigger a small extra charge per item according to the posted tariff inside the cab.

Late evening arrivals after 22:00 can see a slight night surcharge added on top of the base fare, visible on a small tariff sticker on the rear side window. If your flight lands close to midnight, budget an extra €5–€10 over the daytime estimate to Porta Susa or Porta Nuova stations.

One practical tip: snap a photo of the taxi’s license plate and door number before you pull away from T1; if you leave something on the back seat, that photo plus your receipt gives Radio Taxi a real shot at getting it back to you.
