Rental desks sit opposite Arrivals in T1 at Turin

Car hire at Turin Airport (TRN) runs out of Terminal 1, with rental company desks directly across from the public Arrivals hall doors on the ground floor. You walk about 2–3 minutes from baggage reclaim to the counters, so it’s easy to spot them as soon as you exit customs.

Most major brands operate here, typically including Europcar, Hertz, Avis, Sixt, Budget and local Italian firms, all clustered in the same T1 zone. Desks usually keep hours roughly aligned with the main flight banks, often from early morning around 07:00 until late evening, but late-night arrivals after 23:00 should double-check hours and key-drop options when booking.

Car pick-up happens in the multi-storey car park directly in front of T1, usually on a signed rental level like P3 or P4, about a 4–6 minute walk or a short elevator ride from the counters. You’ll get a printed map at the desk showing the exact bay number for your car, and staff typically note existing damage on a paper or tablet form before handing you the keys.

For pricing, small manuals can often be found in off-peak months from around €30–€40 per day, but winter weekends in January and February can jump above €70 when ski traffic hits the Alps. Many rentals at TRN come with a basic mileage allowance that’s effectively unlimited, though some low-cost offers cap daily kilometres, so read the contract line with the km limit before signing.

Driving out is straightforward: from the rental car exits you follow signs to the RA10 and A55, putting you about 20–25 minutes from central Turin in light traffic. Reaching popular ski gateways like Susa or Bardonecchia usually runs 60–90 minutes via the A32, and many renters request winter tyres or chains between November and March, which can add €5–€10 per day.

Returning the car, you follow “Autonoleggi / Car rental return” signs back into the same airport car park, then walk the 4–6 minutes back into T1 Departures on the upper level. One practical tip: take photos of the fuel gauge, odometer, and all four sides of the car on both pick-up and return; it takes 60 seconds and settles any argument later.
