Economy Parking Lot

Long stay

Daily rates favor the Economy Parking Lot for long SUB trips

The Economy Parking Lot at Juanda International Airport (SUB) works best for trips longer than 24 hours, with lower daily rates than the main short‑stay areas near Terminals 1 and 2. It’s an outdoor, open-air lot, so expect your car to sit in the sun and rain, but the tradeoff is price. You pay on exit at the official airport pay stations, using cash in Indonesian rupiah or common local payment apps.

Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 sit within a short shuttle or walkshed of the Economy Parking Lot, so you’re not dealing with an off-airport operator or a 20‑minute transfer. Look for the official “Ekonomi” parking signs as you approach SUB on the main airport access road, then follow the color-coded parking zone markers so you can remember the exact row when you return.

This is a long-stay option, so think in days, not hours: useful for 3–7 day trips out of Surabaya or longer domestic runs to Jakarta, Denpasar, or Makassar. Stays beyond 24 hours are usually charged per calendar day, not by the minute, so arriving at 05:00 and leaving at 23:00 the next day often still counts as two days. Keep your entry ticket dry; a damaged barcode can slow you down at the payment machine.

Security at the Economy Parking Lot uses the same airport-controlled barriers and patrols as the closer-in car parks, and cars pass a basic check at the SUB entrance gate. Still, don’t leave loose items visible; lock bags in the trunk before you pass the main security post. Photograph your license plate and the nearest zone sign so you can show staff exactly where your car sits if you return late at night.

Plan your timing: add 15–20 minutes to your usual Juanda arrival routine to allow for parking, walking or shuttling to Terminal 1 or 2, and paying at the machines before you drive out.
