Most short-term parking at Sharm el Sheikh goes to pickups and tour vans
The Short Stay Car Park at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (SSH) sits in front of Terminals T1 and T2 and mainly serves quick drop-offs, pickups, and tour operators waiting on arriving groups. It’s a surface lot, so you’re parking in the open sun rather than under cover. Expect basic, functional parking rather than a polished "park & fly" setup with shuttles and add-ons.
Pricing at SSH generally follows Egypt’s norm of charging in short blocks, often starting at hourly rates instead of a full-day minimum. That suits a 15–60 minute wait for someone clearing immigration and baggage from an international flight into T1 or T2. If you’re thinking about leaving the car for more than a few hours, look at longer-stay options instead; this lot is priced and laid out for quick turnarounds.
There’s no dedicated shuttle from the Short Stay Car Park because the walk to the terminal zone is only a few minutes on foot. You roll bags straight toward your airline’s check-in area in T1 or T2, then hit standard security and passport control. Factor in Sharm’s occasional traffic at the terminal access roads and build at least a 10–15 minute buffer from the main airport entrance to your parking spot.
Facilities match a simple surface car park: marked spaces, basic lighting, and on-the-ground staff shared with other terminal forecourt operations. You won’t see EV chargers or premium bays here; in most cases you just take a ticket at the barrier, park, and pay on exit. In the midday Sharm heat, cars sit in direct sun that can top 35–40°C outside, so interiors get very hot.
Tip: if you’re meeting an arrival from T1 or T2, check the flight’s scheduled landing time and aim to enter the Short Stay Car Park about 30–40 minutes after touchdown so you’re not overpaying to sit in the car during immigration queues.
