Five minutes past T2 passport control, Pliska is the default
Pliska Lounge sits in Terminal 2 airside, just after passport control on the right-hand side, past the duty-free shops. Airlines funnel most business-class passengers here, and it also accepts Priority Pass, so traffic stays high through most of the day. This is reportedly the smallest of Sofia’s three lounges, so treat it as the easy option rather than the “go out of your way” option.
The room itself is compact, with limited seating compared with the larger lounges in T2 and T1, and reviewers repeatedly call it “small” and “crowded.” At peak banks for Lufthansa, Austrian, and BA departures, every second seat tends to be taken. If your flight leaves from one of the nearby Schengen gates in T2, the short walk back to the boarding area is the main upside.
Food runs to sandwiches, mini pizzas, cakes, and small desserts, with yoghurt and fresh fruit on the side; one traveler summed it up as “nothing special but some small nibbles.” Don’t come hungry expecting a hot meal service or cooked-to-order dishes. The snacks do fine as a pre-flight bite before a 2–3 hour hop to Vienna, London, or Frankfurt, but you’ll want the onboard meal for anything longer.
The bar is the strong point, with a full range of local spirits and Bulgarian beer reportedly on draft, plus standard house wine options. Self-pour setups vary by day, but you can usually sort yourself a beer or a basic mixed drink in under a minute. Coffee comes from machines rather than a staffed barista, and soft drinks sit in regular glass-door fridges.
Regulars with Priority Pass often treat Pliska as the “use it if your airline sends you” lounge and don’t go out of their way to time a long stay here. If you hit a quieter window outside the main European departure waves, it becomes a reasonable spot to sit for 45–60 minutes with Wi‑Fi and a drink before boarding.
Practical tip: If the room looks packed when you enter from T2 passport control, grab a quick drink at the bar, check your gate, and consider moving to the departure seating nearby instead of hunting for a chair for 20 minutes.
