Gate-side windows in T2 beat every other Sofia lounge view.
The Contract Lounge sits airside in Terminal 2 at Sofia Airport, after security and passport control, and Priority Pass holders get in without extra payment. Reviewers call it the most contemporary lounge at SOF, with clean lines, newer furniture, and proper daylight from large windows facing the apron. Compared with the older spaces in T2, this one simply feels more current and less worn.
Size is the catch: the room is quite small, roughly a single open space rather than segmented zones, and regulars warn it fills up quickly during morning and evening banks of flights. When two or three Schengen and non-Schengen departures leave close together, almost every seat can be taken, and finding two seats together near the windows becomes difficult. Build the buffer if you care about a window spot.
Food runs ahead of other Sofia lounges, with cold sandwiches, canapés, and miniature desserts laid out on a small buffet. You’ll usually see simple finger food rather than hot dishes, so think snacks before a short-haul flight, not a full dinner. Compared with the T2 Preslav lounge’s very basic nibbles, Contract’s spreads draw more repeat visitors looking for something better than just crisps and nuts.
Drinks are split: wine, beer, and soft drinks are self-service, while spirits come from a staffed bar counter. Expect standard European beers and a couple of Bulgarian wines in open bottles, plus soda in cans or on tap. Spirits are not an endless premium list, but you can usually get a basic whisky, gin, vodka, or rum poured for you. If the bar staff are covering other duties, service can slow when the lounge is busy.
Regulars still choose Contract over other options in SOF T2 because the combination of apron view and slightly better food outweighs the cramped seating. Some flyers even walk past other Priority Pass lounges in the terminal to sit here for 30–45 minutes, eat a quick plate of snacks, and watch aircraft taxi in front of the windows before boarding.
Practical tip: aim to arrive outside the main morning rush (roughly 06:00–09:00) for a good seat by the windows and a calmer buffet, especially if you’re relying on Priority Pass access.
