Swissport Lounge

2

Gate area for Schengen flights in T2 is a 2–3 minute walk from the Swissport Lounge in Thessaloniki.

The Swissport Lounge sits airside in Terminal 2, inside the Schengen departures zone at SKG, after security and passport control. It mainly serves contract passengers for various European carriers plus paid-access visitors using common lounge passes. If your boarding pass shows a Schengen destination from T2, you’re in the right place for this lounge.

Hours typically cover the main bank of European departures, roughly early morning to late evening, aligned with SKG’s busiest Schengen waves. The space is single-level, above the main concourse in Terminal 2, and is meant as a calmer alternative to the public seating near the gates. Figure on arriving 60–90 minutes before your flight if you want to make the stop worthwhile.

Food is standard contract-lounge fare: light snacks rather than full meals, with items like packaged nuts, cookies, chips and small sandwiches common during peak times. Coffee machines, soft drinks and basic spirits usually sit on a self-service counter. Prices come in only if you’re paying at the door or via a lounge program; once inside, food and drink are included in access.

Alcohol selection in lounges of this tier at Greek airports usually means a few local beers, house wine and a couple of standard spirits. Don’t count on premium labels or cocktails mixed to order. If you care more about quality drinks than quiet seating, it may be smarter to grab a specific bottle or local wine from duty free in Terminal 2 instead.

Seats fill up when multiple Schengen departures bunch up in the schedule, especially morning flights to Germany, Italy and central Europe. Power outlets can be limited near some of the window seats, so bring a small power strip or be ready to share sockets. Wi‑Fi typically rides on the airport’s network, which in SKG’s Terminal 2 is free but can slow down during the familiar 6:00–9:00 window.

Last practical tip: check your printed or mobile boarding pass for “Terminal 2 / Schengen” before heading up the lounge stairs or elevator. If your flight leaves from Terminal 1 or a non‑Schengen gate, you won’t be able to cross back over in time and the Swissport Lounge won’t help your connection.
