P1 Parking Garage

Short stay

P1 sits right by Shanghai Hongqiao’s terminals for true short stays

P1 Parking Garage is the airport’s short-stay option at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), serving trips of a few hours up to a day or two. It sits on-airport, within walking distance of both T1 and T2, so you’re not dealing with shuttles or off-site transfers. This makes it the simplest choice if you’re dropping someone at departures, meeting an arrival, or doing a quick same-day turn.

The P1 facility operates 24 hours a day, matching Hongqiao’s early-morning and late-night bank of domestic flights. Because it is short-stay, daily pricing is higher than the long-term surface lots around the airport, but you save time versus parking farther away and taking ground transport back. Check the current hourly and daily rates on the official Shanghai Hongqiao website before you go, as prices are adjusted periodically.

Access is via the clearly signed airport ring roads that feed both T1 and T2; follow the “P1” boards rather than the generic parking icons. Entry and payment use standard ticket machines and pay stations, and most Chinese payment methods are accepted on-site. Height limits apply in the multi-storey structure, so anything taller than a standard SUV or van should be double-checked against the posted clearance at the ramp.

P1 is lit and monitored, but it’s still an open public garage right next to two busy terminals, so give yourself 10–15 minutes to park, lock up, find the pedestrian exit, and walk into T1 or T2. One practical tip: snap a photo of your level, section, and the nearest pillar number before you head to check-in; Hongqiao’s garages all look the same after a late-night return flight.
