Footlong sandwiches in T2

Right in Tan Son Nhat’s international Terminal T2, Subway is the safest bet if you want something familiar before a long-haul out of SGN. It sits airside after security, so you’re already past passport control before you see the bright green and yellow sign.

Most 6-inch sandwiches run in the mid-range for the airport, usually cheaper than a sit-down pho spot in T2 but more than street prices in District 1. You pick bread, cheese, veggies, and sauce at the counter, same as any other Subway, and they’ll toast it on request in a few minutes.

Portions line up with global standards, so a 12-inch sub is enough to replace a full meal before a 5–7 hour flight to Japan, Korea, or Australia. It’s also an easy option if you’re trying to avoid spicy food after a week in Ho Chi Minh City, since you can keep it basic with ham, turkey, or tuna.

Drinks come in standard fountain sizes, with bottled water and canned soft drinks in the cooler by the register. Expect combo-style pricing: one sandwich, a small drink, and a bag of chips usually costs less than a main course plus drink at the nearby full-service restaurants in T2.

Lines spike around the evening departure banks, especially before the 20:00–23:00 block of international flights to Northeast Asia. At quieter times, you can be in and out in under 10 minutes, which is handy if you’re boarding from gates in the mid-teens and don’t want to stray far.

Tip: if your flight boards from a distant gate in T2, grab a 6-inch sub wrapped to go and eat near your gate so you’re not stuck in a slow-moving queue behind a full tour group.
