Big Bowl

T1

Gate-side pho fix in T1 without leaving security

Big Bowl sits airside in Tan Son Nhat’s Terminal T1, so you stay past security and still get a hot bowl of pho before domestic flights. It’s a sit-down chain spot you’ll also see in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, so the menu feels familiar if you’ve been in town already. Expect quick turnover during morning and late-evening departure banks when the domestic schedule peaks.

The menu leans hard into Vietnamese staples: beef pho, chicken pho, bun cha-style grilled pork over noodles, plus spring rolls and a few rice plates. Portions run smaller than city locations, but prices run higher: budget roughly 90,000–150,000 VND for a main in T1. Broth and noodles usually land on your table in under 10–15 minutes, useful if your boarding pass shows a tight window.

Drinks cover the basics: bottled water around 20,000–25,000 VND, canned soft drinks near 30,000 VND, and Vietnamese iced coffee that costs more than street stalls but still less than most chain coffee bars in T1. If you have an early flight before 08:00, hot pho and ca phe sua da here beat grabbing a cold sandwich at a kiosk by the gates.

Service style matches most Vietnamese chains: order at the counter, pay up front, then staff bring dishes to your table. Seating stays open to the concourse, so you can keep an eye on T1 gate screens while you eat. Card payment usually works, but a few travelers report terminal glitches, so keep at least 200,000 VND in cash in case your bank card declines.

One practical tip: T1 security can back up to 20–30 minutes during domestic peaks, so clear the checkpoint first, then walk to Big Bowl and order only if you still have at least 40 minutes before scheduled boarding.
