Highlands Coffee

T2

Gate-side caffeine fix in T2 before international departures

Highlands Coffee in Tan Son Nhat’s Terminal T2 sits airside in the international zone, so you can grab a cà phê sữa đá after clearing security and immigration. It’s a local Vietnamese chain, so expect familiar Highlands branding rather than a global logo, and pricing in VND that runs cheaper than Starbucks in downtown District 1.

Most drinks at Highlands Coffee T2 land in the 45,000–75,000 VND range, with iced Vietnamese coffee, milk tea, and blended “freeze” drinks as the main draw. Food is limited to simple pastries and packaged snacks, so don’t treat it as a full meal stop before a long-haul to Seoul or Tokyo. Order at the counter, grab your buzzer, and they call you when it’s ready.

Seats at this T2 branch usually fill up around late-night bank departures to Korea and Japan, roughly between 21:00 and 00:30, when multiple gates are boarding. The tables are small café-style two-tops, so it works better for solo travelers or pairs killing 30–40 minutes than a family of five with checked bags. Power outlets exist but are scarce and often already in use.

Signature Highlands drinks, like the traditional drip cà phê phin over ice and the caramel freeze, hit harder on caffeine than typical US chain lattes. A large iced coffee here can carry you through a 5–6 hour regional flight, but the sugar load is real, especially in the flavored freezes. If you want something lighter, go for plain black coffee or unsweetened tea and ask them to hold the extra syrup.

Lines spike about 30 minutes after a wave of security screening, especially for morning flights around 08:00–10:00, so grab your drink before browsing duty free. Plan about 10 minutes for ordering and pickup, a bit longer if you hit the pre-boarding rush for gates nearby.
