Fare starts around 42 TRY on IETT E-10 buses
The IETT E-10 public bus runs between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (Terminal T) and Kadıköy on the Asian side, with a flat city bus fare starting at roughly 42 TRY when paid by Istanbulkart. Buses use the landside stops just outside arrivals, so you exit customs, walk straight out of T, and follow the “Bus / Otobüs” signs.
E-10 operates roughly from early morning to late night, with headways typically around 15–30 minutes depending on the time of day. The ride from SAW to Kadıköy usually takes 60–90 minutes, as the route runs along the D-100 highway and hits traffic during peak rush hours and weekend evenings.
You pay on board using an Istanbulkart or contactless-compatible city card at the card readers near the front and middle doors; drivers do not usually handle cash. One tap per person is required, and transfers to other IETT buses or Marmaray/metro within the official transfer window give discounted continuation fares off that original ~42 TRY base fare.
The route ends in Kadıköy, which connects you to ferries across the Bosphorus, multiple IETT lines, and the M4 metro line, all within a walk of a few hundred meters from the E-10 final stop. That last leg from the bus stop to the ferry or metro usually adds 5–10 minutes on foot, so build that into your timing if you have a train or crossing you care about.
Boarding at SAW happens at clearly marked IETT platforms with “E-10 Kadıköy” on the front and side electronic signs. Luggage rides with you inside the bus; there’s no underfloor hold, so expect overhead racks and floor space to fill up, especially when long-haul arrivals bunch between 06:00 and 09:00.
Tip: Buy and load an Istanbulkart in the arrivals hall or at the machines near the bus stops before joining the E-10 queue; that saves you from hunting for a kiosk after the bus pulls up.
