Newsstand Landside

Right by T1 check-in, Newsstand Landside is your last stop before security for magazines, snacks, and small essentials. It sits in the public area of Rotterdam The Hague Airport, so friends and family who aren’t flying can also pop in before saying goodbye. Expect a compact shop, more like a kiosk than a mini-supermarket.

Opening hours generally track the first and last departures of the day, so it’s usually open from early morning departures through the evening wave. You’ll find newspapers in Dutch and English, plus a handful of international titles that actually mention Rotterdam in the masthead rather than just “Netherlands.” Good spot to grab something to read if your flight is under two hours and you don’t want to rely on inflight Wi‑Fi.

Snacks and drinks lean toward grab-and-go: bottled water, soft drinks, chocolate bars, and small bags of chips, typically in the €2–€4 range. There are also basic travel items like headphones, chargers, and neck pillows, often priced a bit higher than in town but fine if you forgot something. Don’t expect full meals; think filler before or after a coffee at the terminal café.

One practical move: buy your water and reading material here at T1 landside, then head straight to security; it saves you a backtrack if the post-security options are busy or limited near your gate.
