T1’s Duty Free sits just past security at RNS
Duty Free in Terminal T1 is the main post-security shop at Rennes-Saint-Jacques Airport, sitting airside after the single screening point. It’s a compact space, but it covers the basics: chocolate, snacks, regional food gifts, and a few shelves of wine and spirits. You walk past it on the way to the small gate area, so it’s an easy last stop before boarding.
Hours generally track the flight schedule, with doors open for the first departures of the morning and closing after the last evening flights. Expect it to be fully open for the main wave of departures from about 06:00 through late afternoon; if you have one of the very last flights of the day, don’t assume it will still be trading. Pricing is standard airport duty free: premium over downtown supermarkets, but normal for a small regional airport.
Food-wise, you’ll see packaged biscuits, candy bars, and some regional items that work as gifts more than as a real meal. Think boxes of French chocolates, Breton-style cookies, and shelf-stable snacks that can ride in a cabin bag for a few hours. For anything resembling lunch or a proper drink, you still need the café in T1 before or after passing security.
There are no known regular hacks or must-buy items here, so treat Duty Free as a quick top-up stop rather than a destination. One practical tip: if you want local products but care about label language, flip the box before paying; some items carry only French descriptions and ingredients.
