T2’s Ya Kun is the cheapest coffee stop after security
Right after passport control in Terminal 2, Ya Kun sits in the main departures area and keeps prices close to city levels, not airport levels. It’s a simple local café setup: counter service, a few small tables, and takeaway-friendly packaging if your RGN boarding time is under 30 minutes away.
This branch opens early with the first T2 departures and usually runs until the last evening flights, so you can grab something even for a 06:00 or a 22:00 departure. Expect local-style coffee and tea, soft drinks, and basic snacks rather than a full hot kitchen or bar.
Budget is the draw here: single drinks typically land in the low US$ range and under 5,000 MMK, which is noticeably lower than many international chains in Yangon International Airport. If you just want caffeine and something to chew on without paying lounge prices, this is one of the few true “$” options past security in T2.
Food is light café fare. Think toast, simple baked goods, and packaged snacks to carry to the gate at RGN rather than full meals with rice or noodles. If you need an actual lunch or dinner before a 3‑hour flight, eat in town or earlier in the airport, then use Ya Kun as a coffee stop only.
There’s no table service; you order and pay at the counter and listen for your drink to be called. Card acceptance can vary in Myanmar, so bring some kyat cash in case the terminal in T2 is offline. Seating in front of the café fills quickly during morning bank departures around 08:00–10:00.
- Tip: order your drink to go and walk toward your specific T2 gate before you start sipping; it takes under 5 minutes to reach the farthest gates, and you won’t get stuck in a last‑minute boarding line with a full cup.
