Near T2 security at RGN, Tea Garden is the calm option
Tea Garden sits in Terminal T2 at Yangon International Airport, so it mainly serves international departures using that pier. It’s a straightforward café-style setup: order at the counter, grab a table, and keep an eye on boarding screens if your gate is in the low 200s. Signage in T2 is clear, and you’ll see Tea Garden on the main passenger path shortly after security.
Expect a tea-focused menu here, with classic Myanmar tea as the headline item and coffee on the side. Prices at RGN cafes usually sit in the mid-range for Southeast Asian airports, so assume you’re paying a small airport premium over downtown Yangon teashops. If you want something fast before a regional flight, Tea Garden works better than walking back toward T1 or forward to T3 to hunt for more options.
Food is secondary to drinks, so treat Tea Garden as a place for a quick snack with your tea rather than a full hot meal. Most airport tea spots at this price point lean on simple pastries, light bites, and pre-made items that are easy to hand over in under 10 minutes. If you need something heavier before a 4–5 hour sector, you may still want to top up on the aircraft meal.
Service hours at similar RGN outlets tend to track the international bank of departures, roughly early morning to late evening, and Tea Garden in T2 is set up for that same pattern. That means it’s a safer bet around the 06:00–10:00 and 18:00–22:00 peaks and not a guaranteed option in the dead overnight window. Always check the shutter: if the gate area around 200–230 looks quiet, Tea Garden may be closed too.
Tip: if your flight leaves from another terminal, allow at least 10–15 minutes to walk from Tea Garden in T2 to distant gates, as RGN’s three-terminal layout stretches more than it looks on the map.
