Mandalay Food Court

T2

Mains under US$6 in T2

Mandalay Food Court sits airside in Terminal T2, just past central security, and works well if you want a full plate before a regional flight. It runs through most operating hours of T2 flights, so early-morning departures and late-evening returns usually find it open. Seating is shared cafeteria style, so you can park your bags and keep an eye on the nearest gate screens while you eat.

Pricing skews budget-friendly by airport standards: local mains often land in the US$3–6 range, with simple snacks and sides under US$3. Figure on bottled water or soft drinks at roughly double city prices, which is standard for Yangon International Airport. You pay at individual stalls, so bring small Kyat notes or a card that works reliably in Myanmar; some travelers report airport cards working more consistently than in town.

The draw here is local Burmese-style dishes rather than Western comfort food. Expect rice plates, noodle soups, and curry options that feel closer to what you’d see in central Yangon than at a generic airport café. If you want something lighter before boarding, you can usually find fried snacks or simple noodle bowls at a smaller portion size. Portions come out fast, which helps when you’re 40 minutes from boarding at a T2 gate.

Choices vary a bit by day and stall, so walk one quick loop of the court before committing; it takes maybe two minutes to scan every counter. Menus tend to carry English listings and prices, which is helpful if your Burmese is limited. Don’t expect barista coffee quality, but you can get a basic hot coffee or tea alongside your food without hunting across terminals.

Tip: eat here before you head to T1 or T3, as options shrink once you leave T2’s airside area and you may not clear back through security in time.
