Burger King

T1

Whopper and fries in T1 when you just want familiar

This Burger King sits airside in Yangon’s Terminal T1, handy if you’ve cleared security early and don’t want to gamble on local spots. The menu sticks to the global basics: Whopper, chicken burgers, fries, onion rings, and soft-serve. Expect combo meals in the 6,000–9,000 MMK range, which is mid-pack for RGN but cheaper than some café plates in the same terminal.

Opening hours usually track flight banks in T1, with shutters up for early-morning departures around 06:00 and staying open into late evening when regional flights to BKK and SIN go out. Seating is limited, so at peak times you may be standing with a tray near the gate. For a quick bite before boarding a domestic connection from T1, this is one of the most predictable options past security.

Standard orders here are the Whopper meal or a chicken sandwich combo, both coming with fries and a fountain drink in under 10 minutes during normal traffic. Kids’ meals with small toys show up on the board, helpful if you’re wrangling under-10s between flights. If you’re price-watching, skip the add-ons: extra sides and desserts can push a basic meal over 10,000 MMK fast.

Cards are accepted most days, but payment terminals at RGN are known to flake out, so have some cash in kyat on hand for backup. The counter is close enough to nearby gates in T1 that you can hear boarding calls over the general noise, but don’t rely on it; watch the screens because gate changes inside T1 do happen with 20–30 minutes’ notice.

Tip: Order a combo without ice in the drink; you get a fuller cup and it stays cold enough in T1’s air-conditioning for the 20–30 minutes you’ll likely wait before boarding.
