La Pausa

Near several gates in Terminal A, La Pausa is the catch‑all option many PVR passengers default to when they just want food and a drink without wandering the concourse.

La Pausa sits airside in Terminal A, a short walk from multiple international departure gates that handle flights to the US and Canada, so it often ends up as the “we’ll just eat here” spot before boarding. It runs through most of the day to match the northbound bank of departures, so you can usually get a seat for a late breakfast before a 10:00 flight or a beer before an evening departure to Los Angeles or Dallas.

The menu leans on standard airport bar fare: burgers, sandwiches, nachos, and a few Mexican plates, with prices higher than in town but typical for PVR airport. Expect to pay roughly 220–300 MXN for a main and 90–150 MXN for soft drinks or local beer. If you want something quick before a 45‑minute boarding window, stick to nachos, quesadillas, or fries; grilled items and full plates can slow you down.

Drinks are the main draw for many passengers here. You’ll see plenty of tequila shots and margaritas lined up before mid‑afternoon flights to places like Vancouver and Chicago, along with standard cocktails and bottled beer. Tabs for cocktails often hit 180–250 MXN once tax and tip are added, so check the printed menu before ordering a second round if you’re watching your peso balance.

Seating is open to the concourse and fills up around the 12:00–16:00 departure wave, when multiple gates nearby board at once. There are some two‑tops that work for solo travelers with a roll‑aboard, but power outlets are scarce, so don’t plan to recharge a laptop before a 4‑hour flight. Service speed tracks crowd levels: a 15‑minute wait for food when three flights to Houston, Phoenix, and Denver are boarding is normal.

Tip: If your flight boards within 30 minutes, sit where you can see your exact gate number and order only drinks or a shared snack so you’re not paying for food that arrives after your group is called.
