Runway views from Level 2 in T1, but the name’s changed

The sit-down spot above the Terminal 1 gates that older guides call Margaritaville is now branded Air Margaritaville Panama in the Level 2 food court. It still sits airside in T1 with full runway views, but signage and menus may not match anything you saw in pre-2023 blogs. If you’re following old directions—"Margaritaville by the windows"—this is the place they meant.

Terminal 1’s Level 2 food court runs along the glass wall with views of PTY’s main runway, and Air Margaritaville Panama is one of the few sit-down restaurants up there. You clear security first, then take the escalator up from the central concourse. Figure 5–10 minutes from most T1 gates to reach it, depending on how deep you are into the Copa concourse.

Pricing lands in standard airport territory: plan on paying mid-teens in USD for a burger or main, plus another USD 5–10 for a beer or cocktail if they’re pouring. Don’t expect cheap local fonda pricing; this is more "you’re captive in T1" than city-level Panama City costs. If you only have USD 10–12 to spare, stick to a snack and soft drink rather than a full plate.

Hours flex with Copa’s bank schedule, but Terminal 1 is busy from early morning through late-night departures, so assume Air Margaritaville Panama opens by around 06:00 and runs into the evening bank near 22:00. If you land on a 01:00 arrival wave, the food court level can be half-shuttered, so have a backup like grab-and-go downstairs.

Older FlyerTalk posts from 2022–2023 mention the original Margaritaville branding in this same Level 2 slot and note it was rebranded under a different name, so Google Maps photos may not match the sign you see today. If you’re walking the Level 2 food court and spot a full-service restaurant by the big windows, that’s the right place, label or not.

Tip: If you want the runway seats, walk all the way to the windows along Level 2 and loop back; the host stand is usually closer to the interior corridor than to the glass.
