T1’s main newsstand

By T1 security at Maryse Condé International Airport, Hudson News is the obvious stop if you want something to read on the flight. It sits airside in Terminal 1, so you can grab a book or magazine after you clear the single security checkpoint used for most departures.

Hudson News in T1 focuses on books and print, not souvenirs. You’ll find paperbacks for under €15, some French-language titles, plus the usual mix of travel reads and quick airport fiction. Stock can lean heavily to bestsellers, so don’t expect deep back-catalog options or niche genres.

The shop is open 7 days a week ("Ouvert 7 jours sur 7"), which helps if you’re on early Air Caraïbes flights or late arrivals from Paris. Hours can track the day’s departure bank, so if you have a 05:00 check-in, don’t assume the doors are open at 03:00; aim to visit closer to boarding time.

Prices run higher than downtown Pointe-à-Pitre bookshops, but still normal for an airport in the French Caribbean. Figure a couple of euros more per title than city shops. If you just want one solid read for a 7–8 hour transatlantic segment, you’ll find something workable here.

Tip: stop at Hudson News right after security in T1, before you get pulled into the boarding queue crowd near the gates, so you have time to actually scan the shelves.
