Gate-side Baltona in Terminal 1 stocks last-minute basics

Just past security in Terminal 1, Baltona is the main duty free and travel shop you walk through on the way to the gates at Poznań-Ławica. It covers the usual duty free mix: liquor, perfume, cosmetics, tobacco, snacks, and some Polish souvenirs tied to Poznań and Greater Poland.

Prices follow standard EU airport duty free levels: spirits and perfume can be a bit lower than downtown, while things like bottled water and chocolate run higher than a city supermarket. You’ll see international brands alongside Polish vodka labels like Wyborowa and Żubrówka, plus basic travel-sized toiletries if something got pulled at security.

Opening hours typically track the flight schedule, so Baltona opens early for the first departures and stays open until the last evening flights clear, often past 22:00. That works if you land from a Schengen flight and want to grab cigarettes or gifts before heading into Poznań.

Food-wise, think packaged candy, chips, and chocolate bars rather than fresh meals; if you need real food, use Baltona for snacks and head to the café options elsewhere in Terminal 1 for sandwiches or hot dishes. There are also simple kids’ toys and headphones if you need to fix a boredom or tech emergency right before boarding.

Tip: If you’re only buying bottled drinks or snacks, compare prices at the regular airside newsstand in Terminal 1 before committing at Baltona; sometimes the difference on water or soda is a few złoty per bottle.
